Sorry for lack of posts.

I've been losing interest in this blog, to be honest, because nobody ever visits it. Ah, well. Tonight I'm going to a Christmas Light Switchon in St. Andrew's. They make a big deal out of it every year. They string Christmas lights all over the whole town, rows upon rows of them, and neon pictures, etc.

Then they have a big celebration when they turn them on. Then, after that, I'm going to my sister's concert.

They didn't break the record.

At Domino Day, every year, they break a record. But not yesterday. The final "Domino Challenge" was failed. Basically, there was a big break in the dominoes done on purpose. Two contestants are chosen from the group of Domino Day operators, and they have to place the dominoes.

Obviously, it's not just placing them - it's harder than that. There is almost always an obstacle. This year?

The last domino challenge, two contents were standing in a clock with moving arms. They had to follow the arms and line up dominoes on them. They kept knocking them over, and they were so close ... and then time ran out.

So they failed. And the huge Domino Day rainbow didn't go.

Domino Day 2007 is going to be shown unedited on five at 14:40 for my fellow Brits, by the way. Watch it and enjoy it.

Yeah, I don't really have much to blog about today - no surprise, it's only 11am. My mother almost crashed the car earlier today. Thankfully I escaped injury.

Halloween and fire alarms!

NOTICE: This post does NOT contain any Harry Potter spoilers. It's perfectly safe to read!

First of all, I just want to say to all of you folks; I hope you had a nice All Hallow's Eve yesterday! My local Cineworld was rerunning the 1958 Dracula in celebration, but sadly I was busy and didn't get to see it.

And, of course, All Hallow's Day today! I hope you haven't forgotten. Yesterday was the eve of it, you know. The head of the senior school had a lengthly speech this morning regarding this day, although he somehow got onto the subject of Harry Potter, and couldn't help spoiling the ending to many startled, horrified gasps.

I'd point out some of the worst things he mentioned, but I don't want to spoil folks myself.

Anyway, off the subject of Halloween, and onto the briefly mentioned fire alarms. I was ushered out of the central dining room this morning due to the fire alarm in St Rule (a boarding house) going off. Everybody had to be evacuated from the canteen and St Rule, and stand in the cold for twenty minutes to be registered.

Thankfully, it seems that, if there was any fire at all, it was contained, and nothing got to the canteen, so we were allowed back in and we feasted.

Pink, purple, blue?

Today I'm focusing on the pink. Today is Pink Day at my school. You may be wondering what that is? Well, everybody ditches uniforms and turns up in as much pink as they can, for charity (Breast Cancer Care, to be specific).

You pay a pound towards the charity at Tutor Time, two pounds towards it when you have your photograph taken, and there's a bake sale for more money.

In fact, yesterday, there was a "Slave Auction". Some Sixth Formers volunteered to becoming "slaves" and were sold off on auction at Pink Day Assembly.

The slaves would belong to the purchaser for a grand total of two days. They would have to do everything they said in that time; carry their bags, get their lunch - but not have a romance with them or do their prep!

I didn't buy a slave though. Maybe next time.

Ack, time zones!

It's all good and fun to be chatting with your friends via text messaging, but time zones make it so much more annoying. For instance, I got a text from an American pal at a time past eleven p.m. but didn't realize.

I was in the bathroom, and by the time I got back, my phone was on the intermittent beep part. Somehow I missed that too, until the beeps woke me up at 5:58am.

Ouch, time zones!

Three day weekend

I'm ill today, so I'm taking the day off. This means it's a three day weekend for me. Some might hink that's a good thing, getting some time off work to relax, but the thing is ... it's makes it even harder when the weekend's over!

Ever got that feeling when the day is so long and hard, and you're on the way home, and you can't wait to collapse in your bed and be free of it all? Yeah, I have that right now. Except I can't - I have dinner, and prep, and work to do.

God damn it.

I can't wait until it's the holidays.

Secret messages

A subject that's been intriguing me recently is that of secret messages! There are so many ways to hide text and images. Here are some different ways to conceal things.

On paper.
Hide your messages as ink stains! You know those ink killer pens? Write over ink from a fountain pen, and the ink is erased! Normally, on the other side is a pen that can't be erased (or "killed"). Simply write your message or draw your image with the unkillable pen, then cover it with fountain pen ink!

To read the message, simply kill the ink, and the message will be clear to you.

On bebo.
Hide private comments as white board images! Simply write your message or draw your image on the whiteboard, then make the paintbrush really big and paint all over it. Then do some cozy little pattern over the top.

Nobody will suspect anything suspicious - unless they click the "Animate" link on your white board image and uncover the secret message!

Well, I won't pretend that I'm not a newbie to blogs. The thing is, I have the tendency to forget about them and lose my fan base.

... if I even remember long enough to get a fan base, that is.

Gah. Let's just hope this one is just that slight bit more memorable. I'll put it into my Quick Bookmarks toolbar in Firefox. That'll help, won't it?

Anyhows, I don't really have much to say right now. I just went on a walk for half an hour, or forty-five minutes, and I think I got some decent photographs. I'll upload them later, if you guys promise not to steal them for yourself!
